C2V14:

C2V14: Our organs are made in a way that each one has its own extent of tolerance. According to that some feelings are pleasant and when they become few degrees higher or lower the feelings turn to be insufferable. When we know the cause of the feeling then we also should know the outcome of it and should be ready to accept the comfort or pain accordingly. Not to get carried away with the comfort and pain, rather to be oblivious to it is the teaching SHREE BHAGAWAN is giving to Arjun in BHAGAWAT GEETA. To be more precise, it is comfortable to enter in an air-conditioned room in hot summer, but that comfortable cooling becomes painful, if we are compelled to hold a piece of ice for a long time. When needed we do both the things, but rational people, knowing the effects of both, never get carried away with the comfort and discomfort.

C2V13:

C2V13: When we born, the form and feature of our body is definitely not like that of at 10 year’s age. As we grow up, our feature changes. It is obvious And nobody feel sad for that. Someone may sometimes brood to have lost his youth but he also would not prefer to remain looking as a 10 years boy at an age of 40. However, as the time passes, our physical feature changes. General people do not feel sad for that but as the death creates a sudden void; they get carried away with this event called death but not the wise and sensible. SHREE KRISHNA is telling Arjun that it is not a wise thing to brood on over death which is certain to happen. It is to be noticed that it is not being said to be insensitive to other’s pain peril and death. SHREE BHAGAWAN is teaching us to look upon the things and events without illusion.
Arjun, when was planning for the war did know very well that with whom he would have to fight. Now suddenly discovering that he has to kill his own relatives’ makes him confused. So his one view to fight is conflicting with his another view to not fight. This has been developed because the events were not viewed without inhibition.
A birth would yield joy and death would yield sorrow, these are the reality of life but both are the events to keep on happening. An enlightened person feel joy and sorrow but not surprised on these happenings.

C2V12:

C2V12: Nobody born! SHREE KRISHNA says nobody die either. Everyone is manifestation of rule of nature. Our mentality, view, physical appearance keep on changing throughout our life. Am I not some one specific? Then who am I? What is my identity? Which one of my identity is true? Of 7 years age or of 70 years ?
SHREE KRISHNA is teaching us via Arjun to think in this way. Our existence in this earth is exclusively temporary. The theory which is manifested as me could always be manifested 100 years back or latter. A box of match which has not yet been made but will be made in the next month would also make fire. And to predict this one do not have to be an astrologer. So the behavior of the thing which is still not born also defined. So when I was not born the theory and logic of my appearance and behavior also was there. The logic of my being as I am did not born with me, rather it ever exists. So the manifestation of the theory, which I am, has never been created nor will it ever be destroyed but as we have been changed since the birth a phase of non existence of my physical form will happen .

C2V11

C2V11: SHREE KRISHNA is saying to Arjun that he is thinking on the things which are not worth thinking but talking like a learned person. When we remorse for the dead, we contemplate what we could do to that person but did not do and regarding the remorse on an alive person we generally think that what the person could have been but what the person actually has become. In reality, these thinking make no effect on none of the dead or alive. So no remorse no contemplation on dead or alive would lead us to any wisdom.
Say for instance Arjun is contemplating about his cousin Duryodhan and expecting him to behave like Yudhisthir. This contemplation will never change Duryodhan rather it may cause misleading action taken by Arjun.

2nd Chapter:

2nd Chapter:

C2V1: Sanjoy the narrator and onlooker was giving the narration. He is stating the condition of Arjun who was sitting in the chariot with tears. Seeing Arjun in this morose condition SHREE BHAGAWAN scolds him.

C2V2: ‘ARYAS’ are supposed to be more educated and privileged and elite class of society than the common people called as ‘ANARYA’. A person like Arjun, being an icon of the society could not effort to behave in a disgracefully frivolous way at a crucial juncture of life. Impulsively changing decisions which were previously planed, considering many pros and cons, should always be condemned and looked upon lowly by the society.

C2V3: Suddenly looking at the would be outcome, which was obvious from right from the beginning, one can not afford to drop the job in hand, especially if it is one of the most important job of life. SHREE BHAGAWAN is not scolding Arjun for his being respectful to his elders, rather for suddenly discovering the most obvious. At the ‘tug of war’ of responsibility and emotion Arjun is also, like us, getting carried away and at this point SHREE BHAGAWAN rebuking him for being withdrawn and inactive. So has to get rid of irrational emotional bindings.
C2V4-6: All education that we get since childhood when conflict one another put us in a dilemma. Arjun also is in such condition. He have to hit them with sharp weapons, whom he loves, respects, adores. It appears to him that it is better to beg than to enjoy kingdom achieved by killing relatives and teachers. At the same time he is also thinking that these are the people who taught him to fight ruthlessly in a war without caring anything else. Whoever seeks fight would get it. It is the duty of a warrior. Still Arjun is confused. Which would be better, he does not know, whether winning or loosing would be best for him.

C2H7: Arjun is brooding for being indecisive still he is feeling that people would pity him for being so. He is surrendering himself to SHREE KRISHNA as a pupil and praying to Him to show him the right path to go through.
If we really want to know any thing, we have to shed all of our inhibition and make our mind open to get the knowledge to it’s real form.

C2V8-9: Arjun is expressing his well thought out decision that he is not going to fight his ancestors. It is his realization that the winning of the war might increase their wealth but the grief caused by the demise of his ancestors would be insufferable and that could not be wiped out even by winning the Heaven or earth. So Arjun is confirming that he would not fight and as this is his final decision and he is expressing that he is not interested to discuss further.
We may notice that few minutes back he was seeking guidance from SHREE KRISHNA and afterwards he has again changed his decision and reaching to the conclusion without listening to SHREE KRISHNA. This is a very common practice we notice around us. We seek guidance still desire to work in the manner of our own choice. At disturbed state of mind when we really need guidance and advice; we jeopardize our position by being stern. Even a person like Arjun is also shutting the windows of his mind at a great important juncture. What of us?

C2V10: SHREE KRISHNA is laughing at Arjun and starting his discourse in front of everyone present around. He is laughing because to him Arjun is grieved so becoming irrational which makes the most respectable person even a laughing stock.

1st Chapter

1st Chapter:

In this chapter Arjun is perplexed and dejected to see that the teachers who taught him to fight and all other lessons of life were in front of him an all around him to be fought with and be killed to win the war. What to do? Did he had to fight those respected and loved ones, for whom he would have not hesitate to sacrifice his own life or escape the war proving that the teaching what he had got of fighting ruthlessly, had all gone in vain thus humiliating his own family, ancestors and teachers?

In this chapter Arjun yet did not understand who Shree Krishna was. In C1V21 he is commanding THE BHAGAWAN to place his chariot at a place so that he could see well the other warriors. Then he saw the relatives and friends present in the both sides who would die in the war. Had he not seen that while the planning and preparation was going on? That time he was thinking that the war would be justified and only way left and now he is thinking and hesitating that the war would destroy the whole clan itself. He was crying and repenting to overlook the consequences of the war.

Arjun being the best person of that time in every respect, was also perplexed at the verge of the most important event of life. We notice his dilemma and his physical symptoms especially perspiration, tremor, mouth drying etc. which we also go through at our grave moments of tension. He is taking decision impulsively of not fighting the battle. Being a person of great wisdom, courage and experience he is bewildered to see that he would have to fight against his own people. It is appearing to him that by wining or loosing the battle he himself would be the looser.

He is taking a decision of not to take part in the war. Is he not behaving like an emotional child? Or may be like a grown up dignified person who for his own interest would never hart others. This behavior is not unknown to us. We always see this happen with ourselves. Even being a great person and warrior Arjun was no different from us.

MANGALADHYAN:
When we start studying something to learn the teaching in it, we have to have respect for it. When our idea conflicts with the teaching we should try to find our mistake and correct it. If we try to find the mistakes in it, comparing it with our knowledge, the thing will happen that the teaching and the knowledge will remain beyond our reach. When we started studying Mathematics, we made several mistakes but never thought that the Mathematics book was incorrect. Had we ever thought in that way would we have not been out of school?
So to grow respect for the lessons we are going to get, especially where the view is just reverse to our general experience, we have to have our deepest respect for it. So, before starting main course we have to meditate on the specialty of the teaching.
